Only a couple weeks after the world caught a new Toyota Prius prototype getting refueled at a gas station in North America, another prototype was spotted, halfway around the world. Another fourth-generation Toyota Prius prototype, albeit wearing heavy camouflage, was spotted scooting around a city in Thailand. All these spy photos give us plenty to analyze and speculate about until the new Prius is officially revealed later this year.
The Prius is basically synonymous with the words “green car revolution,” and the fourth-generation model will build on that great reputation. The new Prius is more than just the start of a new generation for the popular and efficient car, though. It’s also the first vehicle to be built using the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). That helps explain the suddenly sportier appearance of the Prius too.
It might be trying to hide under all that camouflage, but there’s no disguising how great the new design looks—especially the back end that comes complete with a spoiler. We’re still waiting for the official word on where the new Prius will debut, but either the Tokyo Motor Show or the Los Angeles Auto Show seem like strong possibilities. However, it might even be extended to next year’s Detroit Auto Show as well. Come see us here at Toyota of the Black Hills to learn more!
